Objectives of the School

For Rhythmical Massage

Through lectures, discussion, “hands on” practical work, and artistic activities, the student understands how massage is enlivened by understanding health and illness from both a physical and spiritual point of view.  With this new knowledge, the student will be able to devise and implement a Rhythmical Massage treatment plan according to the individual needs of the patient and have knowledge to refer clients to other health care providers when appropriate.  The student is also introduced to other anthroposophical medical therapies and prepared to work as a member of a therapeutic team.

Courses Offered at The

School for Rhythmical Massage

Classes are open to students who are currently licensed health care professionals in the state or country in which they reside.

Training consists of six four-week courses as well as accompanying independent work, both theoretical and practical.

Throughout the training, the inner development of the therapist is supported through a study of anthroposophy, including:

Spiritual understanding of human anatomy and physiology

Spiritual understanding of the human being in health and illness

Healing qualities of plants, essential oils, metals, and minerals

        Complementary therapies

Practice management and professional skills development

Regular artistic activities include movement four times a week and painting, singing, or sculpture two times a week.

Completion of the courses will prepare the massage therapist to offer therapeutic treatments for a wide variety of disorders and injuries based on an in-depth spiritual understanding of the human being in health and illness.

Following graduation, students are encouraged to participate in the continuing education courses which are offered each summer by the Rhythmical Massage Therapy Association of North America.
